Community Giving
The mission of Deer River HealthCare Center (DRHC), a 501 (c) 3, non-profit, community owned health care organization, is to provide quality, compassionate, health care for life to area residents. Dedicated community leaders began a fundraising campaign in 1956 to build a hospital in Deer River. They were committed to providing residents with quality health care, close to home, and after a major capital campaign, opened the doors to Community Memorial Hospital in 1961.
While Deer River HealthCare Center has grown dramatically, offering some of the latest technology in treating patients, our commitment to quality care, close to home remains as strong as it was 40 years ago.
You can become part of our mission too. Join our friends and supporters in helping to meet the community's health care needs. Please contact the DRHC Administration Department (218) 246-3001 for information on giving to the DRHC.
Volunteers
Volunteers are essential members of our team at Deer River HealthCare Center (DRHC). Each year DRHC volunteers serve local community needs: helping people in emergencies, raising funds for equipment and services, providing entertainment, visiting patients, gardening, planning luncheons and craft sales, and much more.
DRHC volunteers come from all walks of life. The diversity of our community is reflected in our volunteers who range from high school students to seasonal visitors and retirees.
Our volunteers work directly with people and provide behind the scenes support. Our goal is to match a volunteer's interests and talents with opportunities at our health care center.
Become a Volunteer
Helping others feels good, and helps you feel good about yourself. We work with
volunteers to provide meaningful opportunities for people seeking to develop
friendships and become involved.
