Our Past Holds the Key to Our Future
DRHC Expansion Project
You’ve heard the news. DRHC is embarking on the largest hospital expansion project of our 46 year history. The 2007-2008 renovation demonstrates our commitment to investing in a bright future for Deer River and surrounding communities, giving every patient in our 50-mile service area access to quality, compassionate healthcare, close to home.
The expanded facility will feature a new, state of the art surgery center, complete with new operating suites, procedure rooms, pre-operative rooms and post-operative care units. We’re also building a new hospital wing with private patient rooms, hospice quarters and a new labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum (LDRP) unit. Each LDRP room will be equipped with everything a laboring mother and her new born baby need in one space.
In addition, the plans include comfortable patient waiting areas and convenient parking with a common entrance to the clinic, hospital and surgery center. A new drive up rotunda will provide convenient drop off and pick up, along with a private exit for post-operative patients.
Our plans are taking shape, as construction is underway. Our staff, providers, and you, our community, have provided invaluable input into this process. In the coming months, we will continue to seek your participation and support and, in the meantime, we promise to deliver the same outstanding level patient care that you deserve upon every visit to our campus.
Just as the original Deer River Community Memorial Hospital was the result of the hard work and planning of its dedicated members, the new DRHC hospital wing and surgery center will be a symbol of a community that knows how to join together.
